CATS votes to raise fares (Bus and Light Rail effected)

The Metropolitan Transit Commission of Charlotte voted last night to increase fares for riding public transportation around Charlotte.
Fees for a basic ride went up $0.20 to $1.50.  Weekly passes went up $2 and monthly passes went up $8.  All of this is still a bargain considering the current gas prices - which I must mention, [...]

Update: Charlotte will get more Light Rail Cars

At last night’s Charlotte City Council meeting, they approved money to purchase $15million worth of light rail cars due to overwhelming response (and higher gas prices) to the system.  Unfortunately, it will take 2 years for the cars to be delivered, but at least they’re on their way!
