… just a year or two! Yes, in what was supposed to take 18 years, will take approximately a year or two. Development around the lines as well as rising gas prices have contributed to the success of the once questionable “risk” by Charlotte City Leaders.

Fees for a basic ride went up $0.20 to $1.50. Weekly passes went up $2 and monthly passes went up $8. All of this is still a bargain considering the current gas prices - which I must mention, [...]

May 29th, 2008 · No Comments
As a fan of and believer in public transportation and Transit Oriented Development (TOD), I was thrilled to read an article in today’s Charlotte Observer about the success of the light rail. If you are a long time reader of Road to Real Estate: A Charlotte and Lake Norman Real Estate Blog, you know that I am a big fan of the public transportation opportunities that the city of Charlotte is offering (or will be soon). The Light Rail (Lynx Blue Line), the North Corridor Commuter Line [...]

Few Updates on the Charlotte Light Rail: The Lynx
February 13th, 2008 · 1 Comment
News came out earlier this week that Charlotteans are very trustworthy! What I mean by that is that only less than 1/10 of a percent of the Lynx Blue Line riders last week tried to beat the system and not purchase a ticket. The national statistic, according to the Charlotte Business Journal, is between 2-8% [...]
